Meet the team ⋆

  • Harry

Starting his first coffee shop when he was 23, our founder Harry has since gone on to open a total of 72 coffee shops for himself and others all around the world.

Harry’s theory of change is that with holistic dedicated support effective life strategies can be built by individuals from complicated disenfranchised backgrounds. He has delivered this methodology before, in prisons with young offenders, to the homeless, to victims of domestic abuse, and built SEND Coffee to deliver it to young adults with disabilities.

Harry personally oversees the course delivery with Ty, and is particularly proud to have been found Outstanding by OFSTED at every inspection. Having faced challenges in employment himself due to his hidden disability, he hopes to build a charity that will make the UK coffee industry a more accessible place.

  • Elaine

Elaine’s our Head of Finance, sorting what she calls ‘the boring stuff’. She keeps the business ticking over and makes sure everyone’s paid. Elaine has a habit of befriending everyone she meets and also keeps everyone cheery in Head Office.

Elaine’s background working at London Zoo, and before that in the NHS and for law firms gives her a huge wealth of knowledge that she draws from to tease out issues from across the company.

She can be identified by her bright orange Arsenal hat - which Jack (Tottenham fan) takes issue with, and considers Finance Directors in other coffee companies posers if they don’t learn barista skills.

  • Ty

Ty is our Operations manager and Lead Mentor that works in our shops and in particular, works with learners who need life skills training. He has been with SEND Coffee since the beginning, and built SEND’s award winning training programme with Harry.

Ty and Harry have known each other for 30 years, and it’s perhaps this ability to challenge one another that lead to SEND constantly refining the model for our learners when trying to teach them key life skills. Ty’s innate ability with our learners combined with his uncompromising expectations has been the golden cog at the heart of SEND’s impact, and his work has changed the lives of dozens of young people with disabilities.

Outside of SEND Ty’s background in pubs gives him a vast knowledge of brewing, and despite his easy going manner he is SEND’s reigning poker champion.

  • Andrea

With almost a decade behind her in the coffee industry, Andrea is a familiar face in the UK coffee scene.

Her experience makes her perfect as our Administrator, tying together all the loose threads from every area of the business.
She joined us as a site manager but now works remotely from her van - occasionally letting us know she’s nearby and dropping in for a decent coffee.

Andrea loves hosting the local community (and their dogs) in her shop. She runs crotchet classes, and if you’re really lucky she’ll make you a crochet animal.

  • Gergo

Gergo’s one of our Operations Managers. He started with us in 2024 as a mentor and demonstrated such a high caliber in his work ethic he jumped on board with our HQ to help manage clients, shops, strategies and everything in between all whilst maintaining his passion for his mentoring.

We are so glad to have him on board and are excited to see him grow within this role.

  • Sarah

Sarah is the Personal Assistant to our Managing Director, Harry. She works closely with him to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, handling a wide range of tasks with accuracy and precision. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills, Sarah plays a vital role in keeping Harry on track.

With a strong background in administration, Sarah has honed her abilities through a variety of roles. She has a deep understanding of complex workflows, processes and intricate procedures, and has supported high-level operations in both the legal and engineering sectors.

Outside of work, Sarah has a love for travel, constantly seeking new adventures and experiences around the world. With a calm and methodical approach, Sarah is always ready to take on a challenge and thrives on making things happen efficiently.

  • Maja

Maja joined us as an Operations Manager at the beginning of 2025 and supports everything from running the shops to liaising with our wholesale partners.

Her previous experiences at Ascot Racecourse and other non-profit organisations span various roles, equipping her with a diverse skillset needed to aid our charitable efforts.

Maja is keen to bring her knowledge to SEND Coffee, focusing on expanding our philanthropic strategy and business operations.

In her spare time, Maja enjoys playing sports, exploring the city, and watching new plays in theatres. She also loves to bake, tend to her little herb garden, and find ways to reconnect with nature and animals.

  • Georgie

Georgie is one of our Operations Managers and gets involved with everything from mentoring our learners to liaising with our wholesale partners.

Georgie brings a wealth of non-profit sector experience, having predominantly worked in fundraising and operations roles for men’s mental health charities such as Movember and James’ Place.

Georgie is keen to bring her charity sector experience to SEND Coffee, focusing on building a fundraising strategy and supporter journey.

Outside of work Georgie enjoys running, cold water swimming and spending time with friends in one of London’s many green spaces.

  • Polly

    Polly

Polly is an Operations Manager for SEND Coffee. Beyond that she loves hosting exciting events for our partners and people who reach out to us with good ideas. With a background in running an award winning bakery business, she is used to managing tricky situations.

Polly is also an avid football fan, and frequently suggests we take our learners to a match. She joined SEND Coffee to try and empower young adults with disabilities, and has an acute understanding of the challenges they face.

  • Lideya

Lideya is one of our Mentors, working with our learners delivering our course in our beautiful coffee shops.

Lideya has a background of teaching coffee to numerous disenfranchised groups, and is acutely gifted at explaining complicated concepts in digestible ways. With her own experience of moving from Ethiopia to the UK, she is very comfortable inspiring families we work with facing similar challenges to take jobs in coffee, where the expertise she can give them will give them an advantage.

Lideya recently took some time off for maternity leave, and has had a beautiful baby boy. She is a very proud mum, and we know it’s only a matter of time until she’s teaching him the same powerful life skills she’s taught so many others already.

  • Nev

    Neville

Neville is another of our Operations Manager.

Nev started as a Mentor with SEND where he used his vast experience in the sector to deliver fantastic results to our learners.

He uses his impeccable reputation among hospitality sector pros to support both our graduates and the businesses they work in - when Neville is involved you know that things are going to work out.

Beyond SEND Neville is a coder and occasionally steps in to fix the various tech that keeps SEND running.
